making up for last year i try to sign up for as many parent volunteering as i can this year... after last week's walk around the neighborhood to understand more about the community we live in, this round, it's a visit to the fire station the kids behaved very well probably because of all the gadgets being shown, they were all very engaged and asked lots of questions and some good questions too! like, what to do when there is no water.... (@_@|||)
one of the most interesting part was about the pole drop
the kids had their eyes wide open when one of the fire men demonstrated how to descend from them...
"can we try?"
learning more about how our fire men work together to protect and save lifes
(those boots and outer wear are really really suppeerrr heavy,
imagine wearing all the gear and fighting against every second surrounded by smoke and fire....)
and the birthday celebration continues.... same old spot as last year, same good old friends, and the best birthday cake by dear kai ma joanna. (these are the cutest superheroes i have ever seen, thanks a billion kai ma!)
and of course,
we have a new participant this year!
who is quietly sitting by himself,
munching his way away....
mami can't wait to see you up and running with the rest *smile*
and this was a twist...
the kids were daring each other to enter into this "dark spot"
1, 2, 3.... and the rest went in
"i am NOT afraid"
"i am not afraid TOO"
"what's in there?"
"NO, there is something scary!"
"WHAT IS IT?"
"what DID you see?"
"i see ..... cars!"
outbreak of laughters!
oh yes, cars are sometimes quite scary...
"no, i see something else SCARY!"
that's indeed very scary!
thanks to all the dear friends for coming over.....
i think i may just have to stop making birthday hats for little bb
since his first birthday celebration, i have been making the little hats to go with the theme...
i still have all of them in the closet
this year, he was really reluctant to put it on...
oh well, something can't be forced...
plus, i got a new target now to satisfy my desire to put my itchy hands into use *smile*
last year, i wasn't able to participate in little bb's school activities as much as i would like due to my baby bump... it included the birthday celebration at school. seeing his friends' moms bringing birthday cakes to the class throughout the year, i feel bad for not being able to it for little bb. i made it one of the must-do things for this year. the plan was to do this before his birthday and the term break but it was cancelled due to the hand foot mouth disease which prevented him from going to school. the class teacher was kind enough to let me reschedule... it is such a big thing to me (i know i know, it's nothing big... *smile*) that i took half day off for this special delivery to school. and of course, the cake has to be special too *smile* superhero cake by sparks & cakes...
i really love their meringue kisses
and today, i have the perfect excuses to get them again!
and just which superhero is this?!it's one of a kind!superhero A, by mami!
