his christmas performance

we were all very excited about little bb's first christmas performance with the new school.
days before the performance, he would sometimes dance and sing to himself...
when we asked him if these were the songs he would perform for us,
he just kept giggling...

it was also the first time somotu was able to make it to little bb's christmas performance...
previous years at the old school, somotu had to miss them because of work.

it was a cold rainy morning and we got to the auditorium just in time.

there were altogether three songs little bb's class would perform.

this year, he did extremely well!!
he was able to do all his lines and moves....
facing the big crowd, he didn't shy away!

as we watched him on stage, we got mixed feelings...
on one hand, we were very proud of him doing so well
on the other hand, in front of us is no longer a baby.....

flashing back, from his PN year to K1, K1 to K2,
we could see his change over the years.

PN...  he just stood on the stage with a blank face
K1...  he moved a bit and turned into a stone when he saw me
K2...  he was one of the MC, did his line, and did most of the dance....

silly me, i got teary eyes seeing him on stage today..............

after the performance, all the parents and kids returned to the home classroom
for parent-child activity and pot luck lunch.

we did a wreath, baby jesus and a manger together...

there were so much food to share!  of course, the kids would only go for the sweet stuff like
marshmallow, candies and jellies...  oh and one savory item - all time favorite of kids - sausages!

before we dive into the food, the class had to say a prayer...
and it so happened that it was little bb's turn to be the lunch prayer...
the home room teacher called upon little bb,
he glady stepped forward,
facing the whole class, he said the prayer loud and clear!
somotu and i had a big grin on our face....
well done little bb!

aside from the main dishes, we brought along an army of gingerbread man to share.
very happy to report that they were all gone!
