day 2 @ okinawa

the first destination was the shuri castle.
what little bb enjoyed the most was the collection of stamps at different gates, constructions around the castle...

happily hopping to another standee to complete his stamp collection

the visit to the castle was wrapped up nicely with stacked up ice-cream...
there were a total of four scoops, cherry, mango, vanilla and taro....
from blue seal....
the cherry one was really tasty and i failed to hold up my fort against it! *laugh*

first stop was the gyokusendo cave.
with all the darkness, i was very mean,
i kept scaring him (like reminding him of the book, of which he is still a bit scared when we read about the family entering a cave and finally saw the bear)....
*naughty me*

after the long walk through the cave,
we went to watch glass making, pottery, dying, weaving demonstration...
if not because the pottery takes one month to dry and be ready to take home,
we would have went for the pottery class.
little bb was a bit disappointed with that...

this is harder than we thought...
none of us were able to walk on them!

next was the outlet...  which somotu wanted to go...
he got a few shirts for himself
little bb got a pair of sunglasses
as for me,
i got a hundred extra calories (burger and fries and hot dog!! and drinks!)

when we were about to leave,
i spotted a big book shop across the street
so i dragged both men over as i wanted to check out books for myself and little bb.

this wasn't the first book shop i checked out during the trip
but again, there weren't any of the books i was looking for...
i was hoping i could find some about zakka and handmade flowers...
*frown*

while i was trying to look for my books,
little bb sat at the kids corner to read children books.
i am quite fond of japanese children books.
the illustration and concepts are very impressive.

at night, we went to the american village..

and the night was wrapped up with fire crackers
we bought them from a local supermarket thinking little bb would be thrilled...
but he was too sleepy and told us he was scared....
somotu ended up having fun by himself that night...
