the bear hunt

have seen this book, we're going on a bear hunt, in the book shops but didn't get it
until i attended a parents workshop which shares tips on good story telling skills.
this video with the author himself performing the story is awesome.
it was said that he never fails to captivate the attention of kids of all age, even adults!

with that, we went to see a live performance on an adaptation of the book during chinese new year.
it was equally good.
lively, fun, and interactive (such as water splashing from the stage to us the audience which drove the kids mad)!

it was going well until the family reached the woods when the lights dimmed...
little bb got scared....

the most exciting part of the performance is of course, for the bear to appear!
weren't sure how the bear would be presented...
and then,
it turned out to be a cute and cuddly looking bear!
little bb smiled again.

after the performance, we got a couple of books including this one with jigsaw puzzles....

for little bb, it was a love and hate kind of thing with this story...
he loves the sounds of the words, the actions...
but
he is still a bit scared of the woods and the bear in the book...
almost every time i tried to take out the book for reading,
he would be very reluctant to come close...

last sunday, for a change,
he asked me to read the book.

willingly, i tried my best to read the story like the way how the author read it...
happily, little bb enjoyed the reading...

and little bb wasn't the only audience.....
