coming to an end

my FTPTM time is coming to an end.
today is my last day being able to take little bb to and back from school.
next week,
i will be back to work.

as i look back the past three weeks and think about how the time was spent,
i am very contented with how it was spent.
i did all of the things i wanna do with little bb.
there were a few things which i wanna do for myself but didn't get a chance to
(like pampering myself with a nice spa, making a few more brooches and necklaces),
but these little things for myself are nothing compared to little things done with little bb.

to let our nanny get familiar with the school and the dropping off / picking up from school,
she went with us to the school today.
i let her walk little bb into the classroom.
as expected, little bb screamed and cried, trying to look for me while i hide behind the wall.
after a few minutes, one of the teachers told me little bb has stopped crying and was already
playing with the toys.
well done.

similarly, i let our nanny go in the school to get little bb after class.
i see one happy smiley face walking out.....
our nanny told me the first words he said when she picked him up from the class room
"ma mi?"

i am so grateful for being able to be with little bb round the clock these past three weeks.
i am so grateful for having these truly happy, heartwarming and wonderful time with little bb.

i am not sure when i will be able to take vacation in my new job....
until then...
mami will miss these round the clock times with you, my dearest.

first tram ride

after a lovely lunch (little bb got quite a few freebies from the nice waiter and waitress!)
with my lovely friend,
i took little bb for his first ever tram ride!!!

i have been telling him about the tram
and the "ding ding" sound it makes...

in the morning, when we were all set to go out for lunch,
he said "cham?"
"yes yes, mami will be taking you to ride the ding ding tram"
and he was very happy.

when he saw the tram coming at the station,
he stood still and looked very anxious and curious.
i saw him looking at the tram and looking at the double decker bus
next to the tram,
i think he must think the two look so much alike but why one is called a tram and one is called a bus.
so i explained to him that the tram runs on a rail, etc.
not sure how much he understood but hey, worth a try!

we got on the tram and were lucky enough to find a seat.
while little bb sat on my nap, we passed through streets,
felt the breeze through our hair and face,
every time a tram passed by, little bb got excited and pointed at it saying "cham".
not long, little bb fell asleep.
with the breeze, the steady movement of the "cham",
i would have fallen asleep too!

i loved riding the "cham" with you....
i loved the breeze through our hair
i loved smelling your hair
i loved you lying on my chest to nap.....

we got off somewhere in cwb as i wanted to check out the new cath kidston store.

with little bb still napping in my arms,
i went to a local style cafe which i have wanted to go back since my first visit.

i had the set which came with scrambled eggs with toast, local style spaghetti in soup and an iced tea.

i waited for little bb to wake up...
honestly, my left arm was tired and painful from holding him
but i felt like the happiest and luckiest person with him in my arms....

when he woke up,
it was time for mami to do some shopping at the cath kidston store!

there were quite a few things i liked but i couldn't bring them home as they would be too heavy
while i have little bb.
so i decided to just get the swimming robe....
i told little bb that it is to be put on after swimming so that he won't feel cold....
as soon as he heard the word "swim"
he eyes shined and kept saying "sim sim sim" to every one he saw in the shop.

we will go swimming!

in the mtr to central

treat for mami ~ yummy scrambled eggs!

happy summer day

ice lollies made with fresh fruit juice

* mixed berries
* OJ

all ready for little bb to munch and lick

the best way to beat the summer heat!

little bb was sent off to school by my parents.

the little fellow were happy skipping, hoppping, running along the way....

he sang and dance on the ride to school.....

and THEN,
the moment came.....

when grandma held his hand to walk into the school.....

the little fellow threw a big fit and screamed "MA MI MA MI!!!!!"  and refused to walk....

seeing this, i had to jump in and shuffled him inside.....

he continued to cry while i passed him to one of his class teachers.....
and i knew i just had to drop & go.

we waited outside for the teachers to let us know whether the crying has stopped....

and yes, it stopped....  i guess too big a crowd accompanying him to school is not doing the separation trial any good...

alright little bb, you are on your own!

as usual, little bb fell asleep on the mini-bus ride after school.
after putting him in his bed,
i went off for some shopping!
yes, shopping!!!  time for myself!!!!
i thought three weeks of FTPTM would mean plenty of time of doing all the things i wanna do, including some shopping.

but nope.....
i found myself busier than ever and with almost 99.9999% of the time dedicated to little bb.

with a bit of guilty feeling,
i managed to convince myself that it's alright to go out for some shopping
since little bb was sleeping anyway.

and it turned out to be some happy shopping!

bits & pieces

science is fun!

little bb visited the 3rd museum today....
the science museum!

and oh boy,
we spent a good two and a half hours there
having fun!

at his age,
the science museum is really the more suitable one for him.
there are lots of interactive devices, rides, experiments, and even a children's corner.

amongst all things,
little bb was most interested at the devices with buttons.
he likes pressing all the buttons and kept saying "gum gum" as in press press.

he did the driving simulator -----  which he failed, obviously.
when he was supposed to slow down, he speed up.
when he was supposed to go, he stopped.
when he was supposed to make a right, he stood up from his seat.

oh, and he loved the magnetic experiment.
there were different materials to experiment with
and he just would not stop taking the different materials to the big magnet
and giggled and giggled.

definitely a place we will return!

little bb

dadi, mami and little bb

mami and little bb again (oh and dadi too!)

school on monday,
a cry baby again.

a little improvement though.
he was a cry baby for 10 mins rather than 30 mins.

the weekend

time again to jot down things we did before i forget
(yes, my memory card space is running realleee low)

after attending little bb's playgroup,
we met up with somotu's friend and checked out show flats of a new estate.
it's little bb's first time seeing so many different apartments in one place.
he was really excited and kept saying "wah!!!!'
and pointing at the furnitures....
amongst all things, he seemed to be particularly interested at the bathrooms (with a big "WAH!!!")!

as for me,
i loved the children's corner at the "sit down and sign your life away purchase agreement" section.

petite designer chairs!!!!
i wish i could bring them home!

after lunch (we sat down and ordered tons of dim sum,
before realizing somotu's friends have already gotten another table
and have also ordered tons of dim sum!),
we went to a show,
in fact, little bb's first ever show!

i was expecting that we would need to leave in no more than 1/2 hour.
it was dark and loud....  didn't think little bb could last the entire show.

but out of our expectation,
he sat still and did enjoy the show throughout.
he was especially excited when the mickey and minnie threw big bouncing balls
from the stage to the audience.

at the same venue of the show,
there was a big gathering for cosplay.
right after the show ended, we went out to find him/them...
spotted two of him and they were kind enough to take pictures with us...
mami was excited,
little bb was a bit going like "what's going on??????"

was family gathering throughout the whole day.

almost forgot we did one more thing on sunday...
we made a quick trip to the museum of history
to tour the exhibit of china's terracotta warriors and horses.

little bb was interested at the multi-media zone which he had interactive experience with the warriors and war carriers.....

melted massively

you give me a hug from behind all of a sudden

you put your little hand on my face and pat gently

you share your ice cream and blueberries by putting them into my mouth

you take my arm into yours

you dream talk and says "ma mi"

you simply call me "ma mi ma mi ma mi ma mi" non-stop

yesterday night, i was too exhausted to give bath to little bb.
while our nanny bathed him,
he wouldn't let go of my hands,
so we held hands till he finished his bath.

how can i "keep" these moments and feelings?
when i put little bb to sleep tonight,
i thought of "storing" these moments in a jar
crazy thought....

sometimes a little green is nice

not a big fan of the color green

but green tea is nice

tried making green tea honey bread with red beans the other day

the texture was a bit thick and sticky
not sure if it is because of the red beans

but the taste was good!

just imagine,

while the bread is baking,
i stroll in the backyard
pick bunches of fresh flowers
and as i walk back into the house,
smell nothing but aroma of the freshly baked bread
with faint scents of the freshly picked flowers...

in my dreams!

home hopping

♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪

  rain rain go away
  come back on another day
  little bb wants to play...

♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪

one of the many songs i have learned since the arrival of little bb

cloud shaped bibs made for little bb
to make the rain go away
so we can play play play outdoors!!!

the tool comes in really handy again
for making the straps around the neck

we are indeed very lucky today
we were invited to afternoon tea at an auntie's home
followed by dinner at somotu's friend home

not club hopping
home hopping!!!!

at auntie's home,
we got treated to homemade desserts!
~ strawberry yoghurt cheesecake
~ chocolate cream cake
~ 紅棗糕, chinese sweet dessert made with red dates paste

as for little people like little bb,
ice-cream and wafers were served

little bb even got to have fun time at the piano!

dinner was equally amazing....
we got to meet some new friends (big and small)
and continuous supply of yummy homemade food
~ chicken wings
~ pan fried crab cakes
~ fresh salad
~ creamy clam soup
~ homemade pizza (which i got the chance to help preparing!!!), our hostess made 8 big pieces of pizza!!!
~ 楊支金露, chinese sweet dessert made with mango, condensed milk, grapefruits, coconut milk...

while the big people were having dinner, chatting and making dinner,
the small people (including little bb) were having fun themselves....
at the corner of my eye,
i saw them running around the house,
the bigger little people carrying the smaller little bb around,
all of them staring at something interesting in the phone....

and the best part was....
guitar performance and singing by our host
which little bb was totally amazed and loved!
he sat on a chair and listened to uncle playing ...
as uncle was playing and singing,
little bb was dancing to the music.

what a great way to wrap up our day!

i like trying different combinations of ingredients for our cake and bread...
it's fun, especially the moment they are baked and i take the first bite
and goes "what will it taste like this time?"...

this round, the combo for our cake is coffee + ovaltine!

it turned out to be pretty good!

it's twice the fun using the shape cutters i got recently

today is another public transportation day again!
we rode the mtr, star ferry and bus to and from central.

in central, we had lunch with little bb's godmother
and little bb could finally say "kai ma" (as in godmother)...
well, actually not exactly "kai ma"
but close enough.
it was "MI ma"!!!

the "MI ma" really cracked us up....

the late afternoon activity was "swimming" with daddy!
