2nd trial

last night
i gave the bread machine a second chance,
no,
i mean i gave myself a second chance with the bread machine ^_^

since the last unsuccessful attempt,
i have spoken to a couple of friends
and were told that the dough for wheat bread is relatively difficult to raise.

i wanted to try making basic plain white bread
but i still couldn't get hold of the dry milk the recipe calls for.
therefore i could only stick with the wheat bread recipe.

the only difference this time was i used bread flour from another brand.

and wah-ha!

the end product looks and smells more like bread this round!!

at least the dough has risen enough to make the bread looks like a load of bread!
and it (the inside) is much softer too!

areas of improvement include the taste (probably because i chose the fat free recipe
and hence it is not as tasty and buttery) and that the crust was a bit too hard.
(hahaha.... areas of improvement.... sounds like my year end performance review at work!)

i packed a big fat piece as breakfast to work this morning.

it's a pity that i wasn't home to "witness" little bb munching away on it...
but i was told that he loved it....  even without any butter or jam...
he finished one whole piece!
good boy! hahahahaha

That's great news! My mom has one and I recall she had some trouble finding a nice mixture too in the beginning.

I'm glad to hear you've already managed to improve it a lot. And I'm sure you'll be able to make it even better next time:)

Glad the baby liked it too!

hehehe thanks thanks....

i thought it shouldn't be too difficult but apparently not... it really depends on the type of flour, etc... need to keep trying!!
