before 2010 arrives..... one more merry christmas

the office is almost half empty....
things have slowed down quite a bit too.
no mood to work,
couldn't concentrate....
therefore, i managed to leave the office at a decent time
and
took some pictures, finally!
i have been wanting to take pictures of the lights.... so pretty to me.

are you ready for 2010?
i am not sure about myself...
2009 passes by like a breeze for me.....

i don't wish for much in 2010....
i just wish for stability and health....
and
i wish to be able to appreciate things and people around me more,
which i think is one of the keys to happiness.

never enough

dainty

more of the lace i received....

mini bouquet

it can be worn as
~ a brooch (just the mini bouquet)
~ a necklace (without the mini bouquet)
~ a necklace (with the mini bouquet)

oops..  the mini fawn thought she has found the perfect resting place...
don't worry, i will ask her to hop off before you put it on....

dreaming....

felt a bit better today and so we continued with our quest :
to shop for furnitures.

i would say that we have been to most of the places for furnitures.
aberdeen, kowloon bay, wanchai, mongkok, north point, causeway bay....
but we still weren't able to find what we have in mind....

what i find is that most of the shops carry almost identical pieces...  very boring and very standard.
i feel that choices are very limited....   hmmm

and even the communication with our contractor is quite a bit of a problem....
especially with the stuff that i want ~~ vintage / shabby chic look.
he said to me, "what is worn out / shabby chic to me may not be worn out / shabby chic to you.  i don't think i can create the look you want."
fine ~ give me some sand paper and brush...  i will make the look myself!  haha

if we continued with the progress made so far, we may have to live without furnitures for awhile! uhmm....

if and only if i could just point at what i see and like in the online shops.....
these are some of the items i would like to have:

actually, we saw a similar one today.....  the sales person said it has that vintage-look...
i.e. not as smooth and nice as the one in the picture above.
sounds perfect...  but will have to wait for the chair to be taken out from the storage to confirm....

and i love the door at the back....

a vintage dressform with letters.....
the key thing to me is the letters...
i saw some but none of them has letters....
and i love the wooden doors / planes at the back....

vintage door in pink with floral patterns!  how cute!

only in my dreams....

miss twiggy ~ MINE!

i guess i must have mentioned how badly i wanted to own a twiggy head mannequin enough times that
someone from above made my dream came true!

after years and years of searching, waiting....
i recently came across a couple in a japanese online shop.
but the price was sky-high!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks to joanna for stopping me from doing that *click* & *add to basket*!
yes, i passed the one i saw in that online shop.....
hoping one day, another one would come my way.

then just days later,
i found myself carrying it home!

trillions thanks to doreen for letting me adopt one from her!

so here's my long awaited miss twiggy:

... a bonus from the polaroid film::  rainbows!

late night santas

hope you all had a wonderful christmas day!

mine wasn't that great as i fell sick....
i meant to take xmas pictures of the babies during the day
but only had the energy to do so later at night.....

"merry christmas" from the babies to you::

i think the little pink scarve fits sugar perfectly!

and here comes brownie the LOLLIPOP!
doesn't he look like a lollipop in this picture?
a big round candy on a skinny stick.....

a wizard or santa????
or are you a friend of harry porter?

hey santas!
don't fall asleep yet!!!
where are our xmas presents????

deer

this is one of the two brooches made....
i like the deer charm alot...
i got them (four of them altogether) from tokyo.
i have used two already....
i think i am going to keep the remaining two for myself...
or maybe i shall keep just one?   hmmm....

merry xmas ~ from baby B

no, we haven't got a new baby (though i secretly wish for one).
this young and fresh fellow was brownie.....  5 years ago.

these pictures were taken about a month after we brought brownie home....
he was tiny and furry and silly looking (as usual).

he was wearing a santa hat and a festive outfit....

~ the santa hat was a present from somotu to brownie....

~ can you see the name tags brownie was wearing?  they were also custome-made....  not long ago before these pictures were taken, somotu went back to vancouver and brought back a lot of "hand-letter" for brownie and me....  including these name tags and the santa hat for brownie.  the first and last time of us receiving so many "hand-letter" from somotu....  he is just not a "hand-letter" person.....  i almost thought he has done something mischevious and the gifts were to shut us up... hahahaha....  do you remember back then, there was an ad from cathay pacific and how the air hostess was selling souvenirs to a man on a plane... and how the man pictured his wife complaining not getting any souvenirs....  i think this ad may have something to do with somotu's abnormal behavior back then.... haha...  he must be afraid that i would yell at him for not getting us any souvenirs from his trip....

wide-eye boy............

half asleep..................

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

tired after too many shots....

yes, i was wearing red.
red!
it's not my color....
cuz i think it tends to bring me not-so-good luck....
but for the sake of xmas and for brownie..............
my first and last time of wearing this red tee.

such a delight

these are some of the vintage lace i received the other day....
i couldn't stop admiring them.....

i especially like the tatted lace in the first two pictures...
i have never come across such fine and delicate tatted lace.....
each loop is less than 0.5cm big....
so pretty...

fleur fleur

i decided to give a *theme* to the accessories i recently made.
why?
no particular reason, other than feeling more organized.
and also, i noticed that quite alot of other crafters create things only after they have come up with a *theme*.

so i gave it a try this round.
in the past, i make whatever i feel like making, whenever i feel like making them.....
you can say that it's very random and ad-hoc....

what's the *theme* of the latest creations?
~~~ fleur fleur ~~~
as mentioned earlier, i have been wanting to make something flowery and delicate....
i used velvet flowers, silk ribbons, vintage lace and rhinestone for this collection.
many of them are pieces which i have been reluctant in using them cuz i may not be able to find identical pieces again....
i am not sure if others like flowery pieces as much as i do...
but at least, i was happy and contented when i was making them....
there are only seven pieces to this collection
~ five necklaces, three of which are necklace + brooch in one
~ two brooches
i am also happy that i could finally make use of the clippings from various japanese magazines for the three pictures above....
the xmas fiesta
this afternoon, i went to the xmas fiesta where joanna was there with her handmade soap.
i love the packaging, the latest winter soap collection, the color combination, the scent......
it was also the premiering of the skincare line!!!!!!
i tried on the facial mist, day and night cream..... they all feel so light yet nourishing!  they were instantly absorbed by skin..... and not to mention the scent........  love them all!!!!!
all the items are going quick!
apart from joanna's handmade soap, you will also find aromatic products, handmade fabric goodies, homemade jam, etc.....
tomorrow is the last day of the fiesta, stop by if you have time....
oh, and i also met a new friend today.
her handmade accessories and concept are quite inspiring..... especially when i found out that we have similar work background..... and similar views about turning the work of handmade accessories into a full-time job....
and i like her brand's logo and image (deers!!) very much!
more pictures to come......
the best surprise!!
a happy surprise flew in via the mailbox.....
awhile ago, a very nice person left me a comment in this space,
saying that she would like to share some vintage lace from her own collection.....
i thought it was too good to be true.....
but it was for real!
thank you sooooo much Jeanne!!!!!
i absolutely LOVE each piece of the lace!
they are absolutely gorgeous....  so fine and delicate!
i will take some of pictures of them and post them here soon....
p.s.  and i love the mermaid on your namecard....  so cute...
