hihi joop ~ yes you know me well!!! you know the answer that i will give you already!! in fact, i have been eyeing a number of vintage typewriters recently too!!! i came across a pale blue one... but my dream one would be a pale pink one!!! i am a bit hesitant though... cuz i think the shipping fee is going to be HIGH! i don't know how somotu to react! hahaha.... i also have a question, about the ribbons... i don't know that much about typewriters... but would you know if vintage typewriters would need special kind of ribbons??

aileen, i just found out that i don't have your email. so a super long msg to you here...

i think you should get it. just imagine all the little note you can type out and incorporate into your art, your daily life...etc A pale pink one is quite hard to come by so you should get one if you see one. You are right about the shipping so ask for surface shipping option.

my dad in law heard about me wanting a type writer and he said he will grab his for me (from the 60s) i hope it's old. if not i might go back to stepback. I am also frantically checking out craiglist to see if anyone is dumping stuff. apparently somebody got the one i want for US$5 from there...

As for ribbon, unless you are going for those really crazily old one from the 20s you should be fine. You can still get them from some specialist shops (some of the remake the spool too) But most of them are located overseas but it won't be a problem for getting them online.

Check out this site

funny they have a pink one on the home page...tho not exactly pale haha

And the bonus is, some of them come in these wonderful tin boxes.

joop ~ you are soooo resourceful!!!! thx for sharing all these sources! i just went to the link you gave me.... and OMG!!! i think i will need to stay up all night to check out the different ones! actually the pink one on the top page is quite cute... hahaha... maybe if i give it some 20 years, it will turn into pale pink???? there are so many types to choose from!!!! really crazy! and you are such a devil! you just gave me all the reasons for getting one... let's see what you will get from your dad in law... my email address is aileenzakka@gmail.com.... we can take it offline from here... ^_^
