my hiding place

a recurring thought recently...
i wonder what would happen if i stick with my original decision....
whether things would be different,
whether i would be happier....
but i know thinking like this is not constructive...
i can't turn back the clock...
so,
i am trying to tell myself that,
it's a decision i made,
no one is to be blamed...
give it some time...
maybe things will be alright...
i can't please everyone,
but the least i can do
is
do only things that i think is right
do only things that do not put others into a difficult spot...
try not to second guess others' motives...
try not to complicate things...
and
try not to think too much when i get home....
and
i love polyvore,
it's my little hiding place....

the most

during the trip,
* things i got the most...... CDs! not pirated ones!
* the drink i drank the most..... thai iced tea! yum!
* food i ate the most.... rice! it goes so well with all the curry, spicy stuff.
* place we went back the most.... the spa house pictured above...
* thing we laughed at the most.... someone's oily hair.... as a result of the head massage... hahahaha!
* what i was most amazed with.... the troop of ants who were trying to move my pretzels away! and definitely what i was most angry at...... the pretzels were my late night snacks! but you ants ruined my snack time!
* the thing i am most pleased with.... the white mirror! yay! and thanks to kae for carrying it for me!

nicely exposed
both of these are the result of an accident,
or rather, i should say, my clumsiness....
i checked the little window display on the side of the polaroid to see whether there were any films left...
i saw "0".
so i took the film cartridge out and put in a new one...
the next morning, before starting our first full day in bkk,
i looked at the cartridge i took out and found out that it was still full of films!
all ten of them!
i looked at the window display and realized i wasn't looking at the little window properly
and overlooked the "1" before the "0"............
for a quick second, my mouth went like this: O
of course i couldn't waste film like this,
so after i finished the second cartridge,
i put in this exposed one....
the film on top of the cartridge went into the trash....
but the rest worked out alright (just slightly dis-colored)...
apart from these two...
these two were the 2nd and 3rd film lying beneath the one on top....
i guessed they were partially exposed and hence the funny but unique effect...
and they turned out to be the best ones taken from this trip...
well, at least i think they look nice as they are unique....
p.s. both were taken at late afternoon.... when the sun was setting...

a room-ful of lace
i found this shop while i was walking around urahara.
i was drawn to the shop because of its wooden entrance.
and it turned out to be the prettiest shop i've been to during the trip.
the clothes are all nice and pretty...
but what was even more attractive was its interior deco...
~ lots of creamy white candles
~ a really really big bird cage in the middle of the shop
~ lots of fabric flowers
~ very very nice vintage look-alike wooden cabinets, closets
AND
~ lots and lots and lots of aged / distressed rolls of lace!!!
they were randomly placed on the wooden tables, inside the cabinets, etc.... all over the shop...
i couldn't help but started admiring and holding the rolls of lace in my hands...
so pretty and delicate...
each piece of lace was rolled into a bundle and tied with a pretty distressed strip of cloth....
as you can probably guess,
the recurring question in my head was:
"are they for sale?"
i walked round and round the shop until i finally gathered courage to ask
"for sale?"
and
the answer was
"sumimasen..."
................................
................................
hmmmmmmmmmm
i didn't really want to put down the lace i had in my hands....
but i guess i had to...
so instead,
i got myself a slip... with a very pretty lace lining!
and i was given these:

twinkle twinkle little star.....

while playing with polyvore,
i came across a number of illustrations by audrey kawasaki
i love her drawings...
.... sweet, innocent, eerie, erotic, dark .....
when i was small,
i used to spend my saturday afternoons drawing...
mainly drawing those japanese manga girls with big big eyes.
i must say i am grateful to my mother
as unlike many parents, she is supportive of my love for manga and drawing...
she even found me a drawing teacher.
i remember those times when she would take me to the teacher's place every saturday...
which was quite far away.... somewhere in sai kung...
over time, my interest faded...
whereas my mother developed an interest in drawing and painting...
now, there are a number of watercolor paintings and chinese paintings at my parents' place...
all painted by my mom...
black, grey, black, grey .... black, grey....

came across the above via here
i love her styling
and
i adore those boots!!!!
and
this ~ models off duty.... hmmm... interesting....

homework #1
i have signed up for a doll making class.....
the doll is cute
but what really lured me into taking the class
are these:
pieces and pieces of beautiful lace from UK....
.... which will be used to make a dress for the doll
... my first class....
was to prepare and cut out all the materials needed to make the doll...
and make the different body parts
.... the body of the doll...
teacher has helped with it alot....
not sure if i can make it again on my own,
the cotton-stuffing-step is not as easy as it looks!
in my next class, i will learn how to assemble the dress....
but before that,
i need to do some homework...
.... oh, i feel like going back to school!

cuddled up in my arms... so cute!!!
i really wanna take it home....
we will think about adding another member to our small home seriously.....
2. i was tired.....
walked up and down checking out floor coverings, bathroom things....
tired and a serious headache...
