our first *baby*

his name is choco,
named after chocolate...
because when we first brought him home,
he was brown like a piece of yummy chocolate.

and he is my first dog.
so he is still very special.
even though he doesn't live with me now,
even though i have brownie & sugar now,
and even though he doesn't really think highly of brownie & sugar...
hahaha.... in fact, he doesn't really think highly of any other living object
that is of smaller size than he is....

he is now a little old man,
living in a house full of the old and the wise
(that's how we tease my parents... hahaha...)

he's a yorkshire terrier
though he doesn't really look like one...
think he is not *blue blood*,
but we (esp. my parents) still love him like a baby
(and spoiled like a brat)!

my dad used to dislike dogs...
i remember he once said,
"no dogs, no pets! if you ever bring one back, i will cook and eat it!"
~~ how scary is it for a young child!!! hahaha...

then,
as soon as i got my first job and became "financially independent" (hohoho! how powerful!),
i brought choco home...

that night was supposed to be a family gathering,
my parents, grandma, uncles and aunts were all at our house for dinner...
because somotu and i was stuck at the pet shop,
we were late, really late....
when we got home, dinner was already over.
i had choco inside my winter jacket....
as soon as i went in the house,
i placed choco on the coffee table....
everyone went silent.... complete silence.... it was quite scary....
then someone broke the silence and said,
"oh, how cute is your new stuffed animal!" HA!
i think it was supposed to an ice-breaker...
i peeped at my dad.... and he had a really really BLACK face!!!!!

well, that was the first night....
it didn't go very well...
but years and years later,
dad is now the one who spoils choco the most....
making choco turn into a little fat old man....

lately, choco seems to have hearing problems...
he doesn't come greeting us when we get home,
he doesn't shout at us when we leave,
he doesn't really respond to me when i say "snacks" or "gai gai"...
i think it's with the age....
and he has also lost two teeth....

but he doesn't really look "old", right?
we all think he doesn't look his age...

oh aileen, my first dog is a yorkie as well...he was special too becoz i've begged and begged my parents for years then my mom suddenly gave a greenlight after our trip to Europe (I kinda suspected that it was either because of all the lovely dogs we met there...or she felt sorry for the dog poop I've stepped on when she made me go out getting her a baguette in the middle of the night!!! haha)

Abbey is in doggie heaven now...miss him lot! Like choco, he's the king in the house (he used to have a personal sofa that even I was forbidden to sit on)

king ~ playing football is good! make him get some exercise!! missed dinner last week... see you this weekend.

joop ~ hahaha, i am sure you didn't mind getting whatever your mom wanted as long as your wish came true! you know what, abbey looks a bit like choco! especially how the little body is of a darker shade than the little head. my dad always says that it's like a little old man wearing a knitted vest! and a personal sofa, surely the KING & heartthrob of the family!

joanna ~ i think it's because of you! choco likes girls, especially beautiful ones!
