my 3rd attempt

it has been quite awhile since the 1st and 2nd attempt...
this round,
i tried to make something lacy and my initial...
they turned out to be bigger and *fatter* than expected...
i need more practicing,
especially carving finer curves and lines.
hope i can make fine and delicate patterns one day....

Hi Aileen,

Somehow I came to your site while web browsing but it's a sweet pleasure!

Your rubber stamps are so delicate... the refine black details look so striking against the off white background. What tools do you use for such fine carving?

Great blog and I sure will stop by often :)

have you tried to use the NT Cutter?
I found that it is good for the fine lines.

but your stamps are looking good.

billie ~ that's a good idea! will try!

miss LK ~ thanks so much. i ordered the carving tools from the shop who delivers from japan to HK. it's called felissimo. you can find the set of carving tools from one of their catalogues called "couturier". the set comes with three carving knives with different blades.

hihi jenny ~ what is a NT cutter? do you mind telling me where i can find it? thanks!!

hihi venus ~ thanks for stopping by!! yes, i used a piece of rubber (a giant eraser) to make these stamps...

hi poupee ~ yes yes i will try to make smaller ones... ^_^
it's quite difficult to find nice lace-pattern rubber stamps in hk. i see a lot of nice ones in japanese online shops...

when i come across the books teaching craving rubber stamps, they all highly recommend this:

NT Cutter D-400

you can buy from stationary shop at around $2x.

I tried this cutter, it is really nice to work into details.
