Relieved... felt good

this weekend, i completed a number of tasks which were meant to be done long time ago.  i kept postponing them for no good reasons. but i felt good now... felt like a couple of pounds were lifted from my shoulders...  relieved.

*task #1* checked the procedure for making insurance claims.  got the claim forms and have handed them to mom.

*task #2* took the poopoos to the vet.  checked their record and was told that their annual injection was way overdue.  did all that was necessary.

*task #3* paid my overdue visit to the dentist.  all i can say is that it was not the most pleasant visit.  i will be good and keep my visit to every nine months (instead of years) from now on...

*task #4* dropped off some clothing to the dry cleaner.

*task #5* have a dress altered... (sadly, it is becoming a bit tight... wuu wuu..)

Ruffles, ruffles & ruffles

*front*
*left the edges of the ruffles ~ raw*

*back*

*stamped* birdie wearing an "A" shaped hat

*reversed* a pocket inside
although this was made to be a reversible tote, don't think it is a good idea to reverse it cos all the ruffles will then be on the inside of the tote, making the tote look a bit too bulky...

Handbag for the girl and newspaper for the boy

last weekend, adria and sasa visited us...
* the four babies playing with poopoos' toys

Potato chips and air-con

adria tells us where do potato chips come from.....
kids are so innocent and cute...

Pearls and lace

was rearranging my closet (again) and came across this lost friend ~~ antique look pearl collar...
haven't worn it ever since i got it... cos i couldn't find anything nice to go with it (again...)...
thought at least i should take a picture of it before it is lost in the closet again....

i am now a 契媽!

Let's accessorize!

couple weeks ago, my cousin was in town...
and i was tasked with the important mission: accompany her to shop.
what an important and DANGEROUS task!
though there was no way i could surpass her "accomplishment"...  i did made some accomplishment.
all accessories: earrings, necklaces and bracelet....
and i must admit, i am not really a big accessory person (i used to be, but not anymore...)
some of the stuff i got:
* an all white necklace with antique-look keys, tour eiffel and a fake gem stone
* got it because i think i can dissemble it when i grew tired of it and use each of these little parts for different projects...  re-cycle!

* a lace-y plastic bracelet
* again, when i grew tired of it as a bracelet, i can use it as a handle for totes, bags, etc... re-cycle!  how economical!!!  how eco-friendly!!!!!

this 一物兩 concept is, actually, quite dangerous.  i can just see myself rationalizing my shopping urge all the time.....  hahahaha....

Collect, admire & dream

my scrap books...
... my habit of cutting out pictures and images i see and like from reading all sorts of magazines...
... saving them for different reasons: things that give me inspiration, things that i would like to try making, things that i would like to own, things that i like but would never own, things that are just... pretty...
... every now and then, i will take these books out to flip thru the pages and just... admire the things and DREAM!
... and over the years, i find changes about myself.  e.g. i become neutral to things that i used to be crazy about, i forgot why i even bother to cut out some of the pictures, etc...  it's quite interesting to see my likes and dislikes evolve...
... though one thing that has been consistent all these years is my love for lace and pale colors....
... my dream room....
... pale colors, plain, floral wallpaper, antique mirror, zakka...
... NO computer cords lying around the floor and table, NO mess, NO dark colored furniture and appliances, NO dirt, NO DVDs, VCDs and magazines flying around (please note, somotu)
... OH, this is a VERY VERY VERY important picture.
... this picture has changed our lives.
... this is the start of our doggie days..
... when i first saw this picture (some 4 yrs ago), i didn't know what breed this doggie is.  i just thought it was super cute.  when i showed it to somotu, he thought the same too.
... it was a pure coincidence that i found out it is a poodle (at that time, my impression of a poodle was: shaved, naked and ugly!)
... and shortly after seeing this picture, brownie the poopoo joined our family!!!
... i still like this crocheted ceiling lamp
... and of course yoshimoto nara's creatures
... trying out different fonts for our brand, "motu & fox"
... drawings and ideas
... lace~~~y
... more lace~~~~yyyy
... nice camisoles...
... nice necklaces...

ever since i started blogging, the pages in these scrap books have been going at a slow pace....
think i should pick up this old hobby again...

バテンレース * batten lace

two made, when nuri was here...
first time making them, quite fun
am thinking of ordering again to try another pattern....

as for these two,
think will use them on totes, drawstring pouches or maybe baskets...
haven't decided yet...

Two-faced

a tote... reversible (my first reversible...  this is an experiment for an important project...)
* on one side:  plain linen with lace ribbon and hand-crocheted doily
* on the other side:  floral pattern linen with a little pocket

We are really going...

after postponing and postponing and postponing...
we are finally going....  i can't wait to see the works of gaudi with my own eyes!
thanks to somotu for all the planning, arrangement and leg-work.... hahahaha
and once again, we will need to trouble my dear brother and ah king with the BIG task....
.... which is.... baby-sitting the poopoos during the time we are off....
THANKS THANKS THANKS!!!!

if you are also thinking of visiting barcelona, i came across this which i find to be quite informative and comprehensive.

Kid's fun day!!

this afternoon,
betbet and kae brought over adria and her little sister, sasa, to play with the poopoos.
it's not the first time for adria... when she was as little as her sister, she has already met brownie and therefore adria only needed a little bit of time to warm up and start getting crazy with the poopoos.
sasa, on the other hand, was a bit "paa paa" at the beginning... took a longer time to warm up...
brownie the poopoo was a little bit overwhelmed with all the fun and busy traffic... he jumped up to the window platform and stood there.... but he was quickly brought back to ground by adria...
a house for the poopoos... built by adria...
sasa is really funny... though she is only one yr old, she seems to understand every word you say and every action you take. and she is especially sensitive to picture taking. every time a picture of hers is taken, she would quickly stumble along, pat on your hand cos she wants to check out the picture taken... "hmmm, jei jei, i need to check the picture before you post it on your blog... i need to approve it first... eeeee aaaa oooo..."

adria, transporting the poopoos from here to there and from there to here.... very busy...
lovely presents from kae! stuffed "S" for sugar the poopoo and stuffed "B" for brownie the poopoo... thx kae!
the princess sleeps...
brownie the poopoo checking out the sea... we think he wants to jump out to take a break after all the fun... he is exhausted..
the babies...

betbet with the babies...
and here, brownie the poopoo is trying to give a kiss to sasa...
and sasa goes, "eeeee... have you brushed your teeth? have you wiped your mouth?"

lots of hugging going on...

*** fun fun day ***

Welcome back, big round eyes!

... after the beauty treatment...
can see their lovely faces again....

Yesterday's car ride

heading to the dogroom... for the beauty appointment...
very soon, brownie the poopoo will have a clear vision... no more hair sticking into his eyes...

from gloomy to clearer sky...
